			Staff Writer for daily newspaper. Covered city government beat. Wrote
			investigative, feature and meeting articles. Also wrote obituaries and
			briefs.

Winter 1995		The Maneater					Columbia, Missouri
			Staff Writer for student newspaper. Wrote a series of articles on a state
			senator's proposals to promote English as the state language. Promoted to
			paid position as a staff writer after writing three unpaid articles as a
			staff reporter.

Fall 1994		Ann Richards Re-election Campaign		San Antonio, Texas
			Outreach Coordinator, Director of Management Information Systems in San
			Antonio office of campaign. Spoke for the campaign at local public
			schools of all levels. Recruited high school volunteers. Organized entry
			of volunteer information into databases. Assisted in fund-raising.

			Substitute Teacher. Taught in public schools, levels kindergarten through 
			high school seniors. Worked with special education children. Assisted in
			coaching of speech education students.

			Public Relations Intern. Interviewed administrators, researched stories
			and wrote feature articles for employee publication. Designed 
			advertisements for publication in local newspapers. Fashioned business

			Big Brother. Developed friendship, big brother relationship with a child
			from a single-parent home. With child, engaged in educational and

Summer 1993		Duke in Spain					Europe
			Attended Duke University's Summer in Spain program. Studied Spanish 
			language, history and culture for six weeks in M�laga and Madrid, Spain.
			Achieved fluency in Spanish. Traveled throughout Spain during program. 
			After program, traveled to France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.

1992 - 1993		Institute for the Healing of Racism		Austin, Texas
			Vice President of University of Texas student group. Organized panel
			discussion entitled "Overcoming Racism in and through the Greek System."
			Conducted group meetings.
